The Small Business Restructuring (SBR) Program is a government-backed process that helps small businesses in Australia get back on their feet if they’re struggling with debt. It’s designed to be simple, quick, and cost-effective, giving business owners a fair chance to fix their finances without losing control of their company.
How It Works (In Simple Terms)
If your business owes less than $1 million, you can apply for the program.
You keep running your business while a specialist (called a Small Business Restructuring Practitioner) helps you come up with a repayment plan for your creditors.
If creditors (people or companies you owe money to) agree to the plan, your business can continue trading while you pay off debts over time.
